What's the best bed for sleeping in a sukkah?
For adults, a heavy-duty folding cot with its own mattress keeps you off the cold ground and packs down to almost nothing. For children, or where floor space is tight, a 4-inch foldable foam mattress is simpler, cheaper and stores flat under a bed the rest of the year.
How do I stay warm sleeping in the sukkah?
The cold comes from underneath first, which is why a cot or a thick foam mattress does more for warmth than an extra blanket does. Add a fitted sheet, then layers you can shed. A cot-sized fitted sheet stops the bedding sliding off in the night, which is most of the battle.
Will a cot fit in my sukkah?
Most folding cots are around 6 feet 3 inches long and 2 to 2 feet 6 inches wide. Measure your sukkah floor before ordering, and remember you still need a path to the door. Two cots along one wall is usually the limit in a standard 8-by-10 sukkah once the table is out.
Can bedding be left in the sukkah all week?
